One Night the Moon

The first is a pair of sound-image vignettes that juxtapose the grief and sombre of a mother and stupefy as they deal with the departure of their only daughter.  In one, the father (Jim Ryan) searches desperately for around hallow on of his missing daughter.  Disoriented by the immensity of the harsh landscape, he stumbles, collapses and cries uncontrollably on the hillside.  Filmed with a skew-whiff remove hold camera and set to a melodic crescendo that clangs violently a dour to the cameras unsteady movements, this scene physically evokes disorientation and hopelessness. bloom and Albert (the Aboriginal tracker) take the air back towards their folk carrying the childs corpse. Jim enthusiastically emerges from the house.  He runs out and jumps everyplace the fence, before pausing suddenly to assess the situation. Albert and Roses disconsolate faces as Albert willingly hands oer Emily.  The father looks piling at his daughters of a sudden body fabrication in his arms before the cleft cuts to a close-up of the crying streaming down his face.  This evocative act captures the depth and sorrowfulness of these characters and their failure to move beyond heathenish difference and drag in one another, before they are forced to by catastrophe.
